According to Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa, a former VC of Abia State University, Uturu, the National Assembly should reevaluate the findings from the 2014 Constitutional Conference.

While giving the keynote address during the inauguration, third annual public lecture series, and awarding of honorary doctorate degrees at the African School of Diplomacy and International Relations in Abuja on Wednesday, Mkpa made the call.

According to him, the document tackled most of the issues with the country’s progress.

.

“The Political Economy of Nation-Building: The World’s Unfinished Business” was the theme of the event, which was organized in conjunction with Queen’s University Belfast, UK.

“If those groundbreaking suggestions had been put into action at that conference, our nation-building efforts could have progressed at a faster rate,” he stated.

National greatness and nation-building, according to Mkpa, are impossible if people dominate over institutions.

He thinks the Nigerian government should use the 2014 Constitutional Conference report to get things back to normal, and that military coups in other African countries were due to unfinished business in their nation-building.

.

He proclaimed that the 2014 national conference had been “one of the most near-successful efforts in Nigeria’s history of nation-building,” which would have prevented the nation from encountering any further obstacles in its shaky path toward nation-building.
