Marcus Rashford will be re-instated into the Manchester United starting lineup as soon as he proves himself worthy, according to manager Erik ten Hag.
Rashford was substituted by Ten Hag in Wednesday’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea.
It was four days after a dismal performance in a loss to Newcastle United.
With just two goals in 19 appearances this season, Rashford’s form has been all over the place.
In his Friday press conference, Ten Hag compared Rashford’s comeback to the club to that of Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, who both had to earn their spots back in the starting lineup.
“Rashford is a fantastic, excellent player. With eleven players, it’s impossible. He may not be able to participate in every game and is currently not performing up to last year’s level, but I have faith in his ability to recover.
The fate of Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire is in their hands, as I mentioned before. In a press conference prior to their match against Bournemouth, Ten Hag assured fans that the team will always play their strongest lineup.
