The call for the dismissal of the Chief of Defense Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Nigerian Army has been denounced by the Northern Coalition of Socio-political Groups.

In its description, such a demand was characterized as fueling needless conflict.

This was stated by Alhaji Balarabe Lawal Zaria, the group’s Deputy National President, in response to the false bombing that killed many in the Tudun-Biri region of Kaduna State.

.

Zaria made a plea for calm while speaking to journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat in Kaduna State on Friday.

He made the observation that, “since Nigerians are worried, General Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), and Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), have visited hospitals in Kaduna to see the wounded and their families.”

“To establish what exactly happened,” the organization insisted on an open, honest, and comprehensive probe into the incident.

To prevent future airstrikes on civilian areas, it demanded that the military reevaluate its rules of engagement.

.

He made the observation that it was inappropriate to assign a religious or racial hue to the tragedy at this stage in the examination into the bombing’s causes.
