Governor Agbu Kefas has voiced his outrage at the heinous murder of some farmers in Taraba State by alleged Fulani bandits.

According to the Taraba State Police Command, the victims were mercilessly slain on their way to their fields.

Piqued by the occurrence, the governor encouraged security forces to step up efforts to remove all forms of terror in the area in a statement published on Saturday by his Special Adviser for Media and Digital Communications, Emmanuel Bello.

According to the statement, Gov. Kefas immediately despatched the Deputy Governor and top security personnel to the location, emphasizing the importance of urgent and long-term solutions.

The governor emphasized that he will not allow continuous threats to people’s lives under his leadership and has, as a result, completed preparations to engage local leaders and stakeholders in combating the threat.

He revealed plans to give freshly elected local government chairmen more authority over security in their particular regions.

.

“Security took centre stage at the recently concluded meeting of the North East Governors Forum, indicating a collective approach to the issue,” he went on to say.

Gov. Kefas also reaffirmed his commitment to investing more resources to strengthen the security sector, particularly for information gathering.
