On Friday, Bolaji Oreagba, General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), was fired by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Bakare Oki Olalekan was appointed by Sanwo-Olu as the interim general manager of LASTMA effective immediately.
The appointment of Bakare-Oki, as stated in a statement released by Olawale Musa, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation, is intended to improve performance and ensure the sustained effectiveness of traffic management in Lagos.
Bakare-Oki previously served as LASTMA’s Deputy Director of Logistics and Engineering.
