Ten farmers were killed in an incident in Taraba State, and authorities believe the perpetrators were armed Fulani bandits.

The attack took place on November 24 at Nyicwu Village, which is located in the Yangtu Development Area of the Takum local government council.

On Saturday, Abdullahi Usman, the Public Relations Officer for the Taraba State Police Command, confirmed the attack, saying that ten farmers had been killed while heading to their crops.

Hope Hassan, Rimamsomtse Lamadi, Holiness Enoch, Rimamtsiki Enoch, Egwu Hassan, Saleh Kyatiki, Ephraim Atenji, Manasseh Atenji, and Hassan Songure were all confirmed dead by the Command.

The attackers managed to get away after the incident, according to the Command.

The region will soon have an anti-kidnapping team stationed there per the orders of Police Commissioner Joseph Eribo.

The victims’ bodies have been returned to their families.
