Gombe CP pays tribute to 19 fallen police personnel with 80 million

Nineteen families of police officers who died in the line of duty in Gombe State received checks totaling more than eighty million naira from the state’s commissioner of police, CP Hayatu Usman, who was representing the inspector general of police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

The IGP Group Life Assurance Scheme and Family Welfare Program were the umbrella organizations behind this selfless deed.

A statement was released on Friday by the State PPRO, ASP. Mahid Muazu Abubakar, via the Gombe state verified X handle @GombePoliceNG, stating that the event had taken place at the Command Headquarters in Gombe.

Members of the families of police officers killed in the line of duty from around the country gathered for the ceremony.

In his remarks on behalf of the police force, Usman reaffirmed the department’s undying devotion to the families of those policemen who gave their lives protecting the country.

Assuring the recipients of the police force’s unwavering support, CP Hayatu Usman reassured them that the money would be wisely used to address their family’s needs.

At the same time, he prayed for the slain officers’ souls, wishing them eternal peace.

In response, a beneficiary representative conveyed the families’ deepest gratitude, praised the Nigerian Police leadership for their caring outreach, and acknowledged the financial relief for the officers’ widows, children, and other dependents.
