A businessman who allegedly threatened to abduct his brother’s son has been remanded by the court

Trader Shuaibu Labaran-Baba, 35, was remanded to a correctional facility on Tuesday after a Sharia Court in Kano State found him guilty of making threats to abduct his brother’s son.

Alfindiki Quarters, Mandawari, Gwale Local Government Area, Kano; resident Labaran-Baba has been accused with felony deliberate hurt and intimidation.

The case has been continued to September 25 for mention by the judge who issued the order, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar.

Insp. Abdullahi Wada, the prosecution, had earlier informed the court that the defendant’s biological brother, Zahradeen Baba, had filed a report on the incident with the Mandawari Police Station in Kano on September 8.

According to Wada, the complainant stated that the defendant threatened to kidnap his son until he paid back the money he owed.

The prosecutor claimed that the crime violated Penal Code Section 158.

The defendant pled not guilty after hearing the charges against him.
