Bandits abducted ten students in the wee hours of Thursday in the Gandu village, which is located around two kilometers away from the Federal University of Lafia in Nasarawa State.

An anonymous local told reporters that at about 2 in the morning on Thursday, the assailants barged into the student community across from the main campus of the university, began firing shots into the air, and chased students running for cover.

The insider said that the procedure lasted almost two hours.

The exact number of students kidnapped is still unknown, according to Abubakar Ibrahim, the university’s public relations officer, who spoke to reporters in Lafia about the event.

“Students impacted do not reside on school grounds; therefore, it is premature to determine the precise number of students,” he stated.

In the meanwhile, college students demanded an end to their coworkers’ continued kidnapping through a nonviolent demonstration.

A large number of college students have been kidnapped in the past few years.

.

The kidnappers have persisted in their operations up until this point, despite multiple preparations by the state administration and security services to stop additional assaults on the institution.

According to DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state Police command, the specifics of the abduction remain unclear.
