Stakeholders of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in Kogi State have denied filing any petitions challenging the success of the Governor-elect and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the recent gubernatorial election in the state, Ahmed Usman Ododo.

While meeting journalists in Abuja on Friday, Ayo Momodu, chairman of the party’s National Stakeholders Forum, made the statement.

On Wednesday, it was reported that armed men stole the SDP’s petition that was filed against the governor-elect at the Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal. This information was reported by HEALTHYSPOT101

Mr. David Mike, secretary of the Tribunal, allegedly made the accusations following an attack on him by masked persons he believed to be thugs.

But according to what Ayo Momodu told reporters in Abuja, the party’s position was that challenging elections in court was not their intention.

The election petition tribunal secretary in Kogi state stated that he was assaulted and that petitions were stolen from him.

Let it be known that the registry, and not the Secretaries of Tribunals, receives the petitions.

The SDP and its candidate did not submit a petition to the election tribunal, as we have already stated.
