Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag’s relationship with defender, Raphael Varane has ‘broken down’ after a ‘frank’ exchange between both men following the Dutchman’s decision to keep the former Real Madrid star out of the Manchester derby.
Despite Lisandro Martinez’s injury this season, Ten Hag has opted to use Jonny Evans over Varane as the Red Devils’ starting center back.
Despite his high expectations, Varane was benched for the Manchester derby in favor of Evans.
According to the Daily Mail, that was the last straw for the former France international, and he let Ten Hag know how he felt.
Despite Evans’ injury, Varane has only started three games off the bench since the derby.
Therefore, the 30-year-old has been linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich in the upcoming January.
