Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the leading Igbo social and cultural group, has asked its members in Lagos State to consider moving their businesses to the Southeast.

Ohanaeze said places like Aba, Abakiliki, and Onitsha have enormous potential for growth; consequently, Igbos should consider investing in these locations.

The splinter Ohanaeze secretary-general, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, released a statement in which he said, in part, “Ohanaeze Ndigbo encourages Igbos to seize this moment as an opportunity to reassess their investments and consider relocating them to the Eastern region.”

Aba, Abakiliki, and Onitsha are just a few of our thriving cities that have a lot of room to expand and improve. The Igbo people and all of Nigeria stand to gain from our nation’s investment in and the development of international markets in these regions.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo urges all Igbo people living in Lagos to rally around one another and help get through this difficult time. By working together, we can overcome these challenges and create a better future for ourselves and future generations.
