The number of casualties reported in the aftermath of Sunday’s unintentional bombing of Tudun Biri village in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State has been disputed by Governor Uba Sani of the state and the Defence Headquarters.
Contrary to the 81 figures cited by DHQ, Sani stated in an interview with Channels Television on Friday that 87 people have died. This interview was monitored by HEALTHYSPOT101
He claims that 86 locals have perished and 76 have been hospitalized since the tragic event began; however, the death toll rose to 87 on Thursday due to an additional death.
The governor said that the military personnel were not well-informed and did not work together, which led to the tragedy.
He made sure the administration was making every effort to make sure victims in hospitals got the finest care possible.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s swift action, which included promises to help the victims’ relatives and restore the community, was praised by Sani.
We have lost 86 people, according to the families who have visited the village. We transported 76 of the 86 casualties to the hospital from the scene of the accident. One individual passed away on Thursday out of this total.
He explained that the incident occurred because the military troops were not well-coordinated and had inadequate information.
According to the HEALTHYSPOT101, the DHQ has confirmed that the bombing attack in Kaduna killed 81 people.
Since the incident occurred on Sunday, the number of dead has been a source of debate. This is because Isah Sanusi, the country director of Amnesty International, had previously stated that the death toll was 120.
The victims’ relatives will be supported and infrastructure will be built for the community, according to Vice President Kashim Shettima of Nigeria, who visited the victims on Thursday.
