In the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, a woman whose identity has not been revealed was abducted while being held hostage between the Omuawa and Ubima communities.
The occurrence was verified by a commercial bus driver who operates on the Port Harcourt–Owerri Road.
According to him, on Thursday night, the robbers pulled the woman out of her car and held her up at gunpoint.
After dragging the abducted woman to a nearby bush, the kidnappers left her car abandoned on the Isiokpo/Omurelu-Owerri New Road, according to the eyewitness.
Officials from the Rivers State Police Command have not yet verified the occurrence.
