Oil theft and vandalism in the Niger Delta region have been characterized as a catastrophe byi Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.
The CEO of NNPCL expressed concern that the presence of more than 4,800 illicit connections on crude oil pipelines in the region could thwart federal government predictions.
While appearing before the Senate Committee on Appropriation in Abuja on Friday, Kyari delivered a speech.
The head of NNPCL noted that the security situation in the Niger-Delta would have a significant impact on the daily oil production.
