No one can stop me now; I’m running for governor of Edo in 2024, and nobody can stop me

Philip Shuaibu, the current Deputy Governor of Edo State, has declared his intention to compete for governor in the next 2024 election on the Peoples Democratic Party platform.

The deputy governor, who made his statement at the Bishop Kelly Centre in Benin, said he is a homeboy who understands the people’s hardship and urged the electorate and party members to back his ambition.

He added that after 30 years in politics and seven years of working with Governor Godwin Obaseki to restore the state, he was in the ideal position to succeed his principal.

He boldly proclaimed, “My ambition will not be thwarted by anyone.”

The current deputy governor has pledged to deliver “practical governance” if elected governor in 2024.

On Monday, he announced on live television that he will be running for governor of Edo.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had already declared that the election would take place on September 21.
