The national political and social organization of the Igbo people, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has made accusations that two senators, Igbo leaders, and governors from the Southeast are conspiring to thwart efforts to free IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.

The forthcoming governorship elections in Anambra have prompted Ohanaeze to claim that the named individuals want Kanu sent to Kuje Prisons rather than released.

When these persons and groups persisted in their evil deeds that hindered Kanu’s release on December 15, 2023, the supreme Igbo sociopolitical organization threatened to reveal their identities.

.

The factional Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, made the statement that these groupings include leaders of Biafra agitators who have criminalized the Biafra fight via violence and frenzy in their pursuit of fame and money.

“Additionally, political elites, including two Southeast governors, senators, and Igbo leaders, are working behind the scenes to ensure that Nnamdi Kanu is only transferred to Kuje Prison instead of being released outright, citing the upcoming Anambra gubernatorial elections,” Isiguzoro stated.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo fervently requests that President Tinubu acquit Nnamdi Kanu of all charges and grant him immediate permission to return to the United Kingdom upon his release.”
