The current government of Governor Dauda Lawal has instituted strong plans to expand sporting activities, according to Isiayaka James, executive secretary of the Zamfara state directorate of sports.
This information was shared by the Executive Secretary during a courtesy call with members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) from Zamfara State, who were in Gusau, the capital of the state.
According to Ishiaku, the current administration has made sports a high priority and is willing to lend a hand to any organization working to improve sports at any level.
Because the sports industry will receive sufficient funding, we will guarantee its success.
We will shift the narrative and reinvent sporting activities in Zamfara State with me as the head of this organization.
What he really meant was that he would provide the sports journalists in Zamfara with all the help they needed to become famous.
The State SWAN was lauded by both the Director of Sports, Nasiru Bakura, and the Director of Planning, Shehu Aliyu Zurmi, in separate remarks.
In an effort to maintain a cordial and productive working relationship, the two also urged the SWAN to be objective in their reporting.
Earlier, Rabiu Dabbakal, the state chairman of SWAN, and Theophilus Darofai, his vice, congratulated Isiayaka James on his very merited appointment as the Executive Secretary, Zamfara State Directorate of Sports.
They pleaded with the Directorate’s upper management to include SWAN in all of its athletic endeavors, both domestic and international.
