According to the Lagos State Police Command, one Benjamin Ezeukwefor was detained for allegedly masterminding a scheme and defrauding many Nigerians in an elaborate Dangote Cement price reduction claim.
SP According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ezeukwe was detained on October 19 in the Rumuolumeni region of Rivers’ Obio/Akpor Local Government region.
He stated that the arrest was made after weeks of extensive investigation by officers and personnel from the “Area A” police command in Lagos State.
Hundeyin further stated that when the suspect was apprehended, police discovered numerous incriminating materials in his possession.
Hundeyin claimed that in September, Ezeukwe prepared a phony but convincing web advertisement reportedly from Dangote Cement, claiming a big price cut.
“Numerous unsuspecting customers fell victim to the suspect and lost millions of Naira.”
“Investigation revealed that the suspect had previously committed several other scams.”
“He has since been charged,” Hundeyin said.
