After inspiring a 2-1 away win against Atalanta on Saturday night, Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri thinks Victor Osimhen can return to his best as soon as possible.
Osimhen came off the bench to set up Elf Elmas for the game-winning goal at Bergamo’s Gewiss Stadium.
It was the striker’s first goal for the Serie A champions since suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty earlier this month.
Mazzarri, who took over as manager of the Serie A champions last week, had nothing but praise for the talismanic striker.
“I didn’t need to be Napoli’s coach to know Osimhen is an excellent striker; I’d seen him play!”
“Fortunately he is back, I hope he gets his form back as soon as possible,” he was quoted as saying.
This season, the 24-year-old has six goals in nine appearances for Napoli.
