Delta police apprehend seven individuals, including a 41-year-old kidnapping gang boss

A group of individuals responsible for terrorizing Warri and the surrounding areas, including Morrison Godwin, a 41-year-old leader of a kidnapping racket, have been apprehended by the Decoy Squad of the Delta State Commissioner of Police, headed by ASP Julius Robinson.

Raymond Etchie, Felix Okoro, Oghene Ogaga Sylvester, Henry Edeki, Ominike Sunday, Jerusalem Sunday, and Theophilus Akpofi are all adult males who are believed to have been members of the kidnapping group.

Arrests were made at the meeting spot of the kidnapping group on 26/11/20023 and at the Amukpe Area of Sapele Town at approximately 1100hrs, with the head of the gang apprehended the following day.

They were apprehended on suspicion of abducting a 43-year-old woman in her ML-350 Mercedes Benz while she was driving along Shell Road in Sapele on 19/11/2023 at approximately 9pm.

They transferred the victim from her vehicle to their functional tricycle once the vehicle’s fuel tank was depleted.

After a ransom of two million naira (#2.000,000) was paid, she was released on 22/11/2023.

In a statement that was signed and made available to DAILY POST, the report was corroborated by DSP Bright Edafe, the public relations officer of the Delta State Police.

He revealed the identities of the accused, naming Raymond Etchie (46 years old), Felix Okoro (40 years old), Oghene Ogaga sylvester (45 years old), Henry Edeki (35 years old), Ominike Sunday (23 years old), Jerusalem Sunday (35 years old), and Theophilus Akpofi (29 years old).

All of the suspects have admitted guilt, identified themselves, and confessed to their roles in the crime, according to DSP Edafe.

The victim’s vehicle was later found at Oghara Town, which the accused revealed during interrogation.
