For the sake of peace and progress, the Ijaw National Congress Worldwide has called on the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, to reconcile with the current governor, Siminialayi Fubara.

After voicing their displeasure with the state’s political issues, especially those between Fubara and his predecessor, the group vowed to constantly support truth and good governance.

Prof. Benjamin Okaba, the organization’s president, made this information available to reporters on Sunday in Akure, Ondo State.

.

The group praised the people of Rivers State for resisting the rumored impeachment of Fubara and urged Wike not to destabilize the state’s current administration in the statement.

The statement said, “We urgently call on all political players in Rivers State to play their responsibility to their citizens and forthwith refrain from any further activities capable of smearing the sanctity of the office, institution, and person of the Governor of all Rivers people.

We urge Chief Nyesom Wike to stop using the pretext of defending his “structure” to incite discord between his people and the current government. The political system he describes shouldn’t be lumped together with Governor Fubara’s government and made subject to a single authority.
