The Nigeria Flood Impact, Recovery, and Mitigation Assessment Report was launched on Wednesday by Prince Adeyemi Adeniran, Statistician-General of the Federation. Its purpose is to measure the impact of the 2022 floods on households.

During his remarks, Adeniran shared that the survey study was a collaborative effort between the NBS, NEMA, and the UNDP.

After the devastating floods of 2022 that hit many areas of the nation, this report attempts to evaluate and estimate their effects.

.

He explained that the purpose of the evidence was to help the government take the required emergency steps and prepare for the possibility of such incidents in the future.

Adeniran claims that the study also shed light on the family’s ability to bounce back from the tragedy and their subsequent recovery efforts.

As far as he could tell, six states—Anambra, Jigawa, Bayelsa, Delta, Kogi, and Nasarawa—were surveyed.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the consequences on households in the states that were hit the worst.

.

He explained that the process involved looking at the losses suffered by those households and acknowledging the difficulties experienced by the communities that were impacted.
