Reducing child mortality rates, particularly in regions where vaccine-preventable diseases are still common, depends on the public’s faith in public health officials and vaccines.

Mrs. Chika Offor, director of the Vaccine Network for Disease Control (VNDC), has stated this, and she has also pointed out that authorities’ investment in vaccine procurement may be improved through promoting conversation, holding them accountable, and countering hesitation.

In order to guarantee that more children in Nigeria receive life-saving vaccines, Offor cautioned that there must be ongoing discourse on matters such as expanding vaccination coverage, enhancing primary healthcare systems, and boosting access to vaccines for children.

Reporters have been requested by Offor, who is also the chairperson of the Health Sector Reform Coalition (HSRC), to bring attention to the fact that vaccines have improved public health, and to provide instances of how these vaccines have avoided diseases and saved lives.

“The success of any nation’s vaccination campaign depends on the trust that the public has in its public health officials and in vaccines,” she told the assembled journalists. By documenting the thorough scientific procedure that goes into creating, testing, and approving vaccines, ANHEJ can help establish trust.

Promotion of maternal health habits can be achieved through initiatives that raise knowledge about the importance of immunizations.
