According to social activist Reno Omokri, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) worst gaffe in the 2023 presidential campaign was not nominating Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as their vice presidential candidate.

According to Omokri, Wike would have secured the PDP’s presidential nomination had he been able to win the states of Oyo, Abia, Rivers, Enugu, and Benue.

In the presidential election, President Bola Tinubu triumphed against PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, as reported by DAILY POST.

“Not designating Wike as our party’s vice president was the biggest mistake we made in the PDP during the #NigerianElections2023,” Omokri wrote on X. How many votes did the APC win?

Under two million. The G-5 states of Rivers, Oyo, Abia, Enugu, and Benue could have been ours with Wike as our running mate. Doing what you like is not an option in politics.

“You make a decision and stick to it. Typically, someone with Wike’s level of assertiveness would not be able to be a good follower. I still wouldn’t back it if everything else were equal.
