According to Ondo, the PDP problem is far from resolved despite Tinubu’s intervention

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has said that President Bola Tinubu’s mediation of the dispute between Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, was nothing more than “window dressing.”

Despite PDP claims to the contrary, the political situation still continues as Akeredolu “remains in hiding.”

After Tinubu called Aiyedatiwa and other interested parties to the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the party’s spokesman, Kennedy Peretei, released the following statement.

.

Without Akeredolu around to mediate, the meeting’s stated purpose was to end the political fighting in the state.

During the meeting, Tinubu asked for a truce, while assuring that the topic of impeachment was placed to rest.

In response, Peretei said that the scandal within the party was interfering with state administration.

He complained that public resources were being wasted on useless visits to Abuja.

.

The APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, appointed the Bello Masari Reconciliation Committee to mediate tensions between the two parties.

“Despite agreements to withdraw all cases, after repeated journeys to Abuja at taxpayer expense, both parties returned to court.

According to the reports we’ve seen, Tinubu’s involvement was for little more than show.

.

The impeachment of the deputy governor has been shelved out of respect for his position, but the game of cat and mouse will continue as long as Akeredolu stays undercover. The siege is still ongoing.
