In Zamfara, the Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) forces were able to apprehend three assailants and seize three AK-47 rifles, three magazines, ammo, and two functional motorcycles.
The army also warded off a terrorist attack in Danjibga village in the Tsafe Local Government Area and prevented the destruction of farm produce in Faru village of the Maradun Local Government Area, according to a senior military commander who spoke to reporters in Gusau, the capital of the state.
“According to his statement, on December 7, 2023, the combined forces of Operation Hadarain Daji (OPHD) successfully prevented a terrorist assault on Danjibga village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. This came after intense gunfire, which killed two terrorists and wounded others,” he added.
While pursuing the terrorists, the troops found a motorcycle, two magazines, and two AK-47 weapons.
On the same day, OPHD troops clashed with marauding terrorists in Faru village general area, Maradun Local Government Area, State. This was in response to genuine reports that the terrorists had destroyed agricultural crops and farmlands in the area.
The tenacious OPHD soldiers wasted no time in forming a combat patrol and attacked the terrorists in a fire battle, sending them scattering in terror.
The operation resulted in the neutralization of one terrorist and the recovery of one motorcycle, one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and ammunition. In an instant, the motorbike was wrecked.
