Governor Alia has challenged reporters in Benue to correct false stories about the state

In order to improve the lives of the people and bring about economic success for the state, Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has announced that his administration will cooperate with Journalists to tour various government projects.

When the Conference of Benue Journalists, CBJ, came to Makurdi, Governor Alia made the remarks in the Banquet Hall of the Government House.

He said the journey will provide Benue native journalists working in other states a better understanding of the state’s government and its projects.

Governor Alia lauded the CBJ for its many efforts and noted the organization’s small contributions to making Benue a better place to live for residents and the country as a whole.

He urged them to continue serving the state honorably and to utilize their influence to combat the media’s efforts to undermine legitimate government initiatives by spreading false information and propaganda.

He encouraged the members of the state executive council to use the audience to publicize the work of their departments.

Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Tourism for Benue State Matthew Aboh added that Governor Muhammadu Alia remains committed to his campaign pledge to elevate the state to new heights.

Dr. Emmanuel Anule, president of the CBJ, praised Governor Hyacinth Alia for his work improving the state and urged him to continue in this vein.

He called to the Governor to sustain his rapid and timely payment of wages to Benue civil servants and also strengthen efforts in resolving security concerns in the state.

Members of CBJ were led around to some projects inside the Makurdi metropolitan by the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Matthew Aboh and his counterpart in the Ministry of Works and Housing, Hon.Isaac Tiza Imojime.
