The works sector has been allocated N150 billion by the Delta government for the fiscal year 2024.

While delivering the budget for 2024 to the State House of Assembly in Asaba on Wednesday, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori made this statement.

He asserts that the Ministry of Works has been allocated N150 billion to execute significant projects during the 2019 fiscal year.

Oborevwor has said that his government will prioritize infrastructure development, seeing it as a key factor in driving both economic and social progress.

According to him, crucial areas like transportation, electricity, water, and telecommunications will also receive investments. The goal is to strengthen and extend services to places that are currently underserved, as well as to make our infrastructure more resilient and sustainable.

Oborevwori lauded Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor, for the substantial progress made in the state’s infrastructure development. He noted that the outcome was evident in the improved quality of life and expanded connectivity experienced by people across the state.

Nevertheless, he recognized that a lot of work remained and assured that his administration was committed to expanding upon previous successes while also taking the State to greater heights.

The education sector would receive N46.6 billion in the 2024 budget, according to Oborevwori.

Education, he said, was foundational to progress, and his government was committed to making sure everyone could have a good education.
